Expectation is often treated as a purely mental event that may influence behaviour but cannot directly alter molecular processes. The governance model of the body shows the causal chain in full. The resulting chemical and electrical environment bathes tissues throughout the body. Cells detect the altered milieu through receptors, membrane properties and intracellular signalling cascades. Molecular processes shift accordingly.

Cellular Reading of the Climate

Immune cells, fibroblasts, endothelial cells and other populations adjust their activity in response to the prevailing autonomic and endocrine signals. A climate of coherent possibility supports precise immune function, efficient resolution of inflammation and investment in structural repair. A climate of chronic threat or futility supports prolonged defensive activation and reduced long-term investment.

Expectation therefore becomes biology through a continuous, multi-level causal chain: orientation shapes signals, signals shape cellular and molecular activity, activity shapes bodily state, and bodily state shapes the further possibilities of orientation and action.
